Hello Penguono Knit Along!

Last year I began knitting Stephen West's pattern, Penguono. It is hands down one of my all-time favourite makes I have ever completed. Funny enough, when I was introduced to some of my very best knitting friends through our local Sip & Stitch group, my friend Christine was knitting one. I immediately fell down the rabbit hole searching the hashtag on Instagram. This was a knit that is as unique as the person knitting it and I loved that.  I was intimated to knit it which is why I put it off for 4 years but let me tell you - you CAN knit this and I am here to help you! Your goal, should you choose it, is to...

Hello SCRAP-ALONG!

Well, here we are with our second MAKE along! The Ranunculus KAL was amazing and I was so blown away with everyone's sweaters.  This time we are doing a 'make along' and opening this up to anyone that wants to participate! Knitters, crocheters, whoever and the goal is to use yarn from your stash! One-off skeins, partially used cakes, itty bitty balls of yarn that you have no idea what to do with -  this is their time to shine!  You can choose your pattern and it can be anything. Sweaters, shawls, scarves, hats, socks, pants, shorts, blankets...the sky is the limit here. I want you to be creative and think outside of the box and explore with colour and...

Hello Ranunculus Knit Along

So, I've never done one of these before and I've only successfully participated and completed one KAL myself..but The Kniterary Society took off so well (we are on our fourth book!!!!) and we've held each other accountable so lets try it with a pattern and some yarn! Your goal, should you choose it, is to knit yourself (or someone you REALLY REALLY LIKE) a Ranunculus sweater designed my Midori Hirose. First and foremost you will have to purchase your copy of the pattern on Ravelry from the designer. It's their hardwork and they deserve the compensation and support!  Link:  https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ranunculus-3 Secondly, you DO NOT have to use Hello Stella Fibres if you already have yarn set aside, are on a...

Scrappy Crochet Granny Hexie Blanket (say that five times fast!)

I'm not great with words (especially this past week...I've left many sentences unfinished! Teething babies will have that effect on you, haha) I had so many questions about my scrappy blanket, if you've been following me for a while you know I made MANY attempts. I tried the mitered squares, the arrows, simple garter stitch, crochet grannies, granny stripe....but I didn't like anything. So I walked away from it for a bit, but I still had Otis picking my colors because he loves it so much.  I finally decided to pick up my crochet hook again and voila! I decided to not follow a pattern and just wing it and I'm super happy with how everything is progressing.  Below you...
